Beccles Townlands Charity - Finance

The Charity’s Capital is invested in:

  • Land/Property in and around Beccles
  • Units issued by CCLA — The leading fund manager for charities and faith organisations
  • Equities listed on the London Stock Exchange
  • Term Deposit Accounts

The income from the Capital can be used to meet the costs of running the Charity, which include Property Services, Property Upkeep (three of the properties are ‘Listed’ and repairs can be expensive) Insurances, and Professional Services.

During the Financial Year ended 31st October 2021 the charity made twenty donations distributing a total of £99,188 to various categories of residents/organisations as shown below:

Sir John Leman High School – socialisation after Covid lockdown
Beccles Royales Gymnastics Club – ongoing provision of sports facilities
St Lukes Church – school uniform scheme

Town
Support was given to:
Beccles Office of Citizens Advice Bureau
The Parish of St Michaels – assistance with the Covid response and foodbank
Bact – provision of an additional minibus
St Lukes Church – support with car park re-surfacing
Beccles Volunteer Centre – support to help establish the Centre
Covid Memorial Service – funding towards the Service
Beccles Bell Ringers – equipment and consumables renewal

    • St. Raphael Club – Activities in 2019
  • Youth:
    Support was given to:
    • Beccles Scout & Guide Hall – Disabled Toilet
    • Twinning Association – Sports trip to France
    • TS Brave – New Headquarters Building
    • Beccles Skate Park — New Concrete Ramps

    • Waveney Enterprises — Annual Outing
    • STEP – Activities in 2019
  • Education:
    Support was given to:
    • Sir John Leman High School – Musical Instruments

Culture and Leisure
Support was given to:
Beccles Rugby Football Club – contribution towards work on The Hub
Beccles Museum – activities in 2021

Individuals
Support was given as follows:
Two donations of washing machines to Beccles families
Assistance to a family with emergency supplies
